PROMPTED
Procrastinating Can Help Us Write, Right?
Some days feel broken and old school, so why not resort to a modern day chain letter
It’s one of those writing days. Too much noise going on around me to get in the ‘zone’, too much fiddly, trivial crap distracting me, and what’s that smell?
Must be the office cleaner. I hope it’s the office cleaner.
While I’ve been sitting here daydreaming over four different story ideas and getting nowhere on all of them (winning!), I found this prompt by Krystal Mossbarger — ‘Question… procrastination fun’.
So I’ll run with your prompt Krystal and use it to write while the back of my flummoxed brain tries to figure out how to make something of the other four.
Here’s the Four from Krystal’s prompt:
What is one of your favourite songs, and what does it mean to you?
‘American Idiot’ by Green Day, from the album of the same name. A few songs have meant more to me since leaving my homeland and moving overseas. The outsider’s opinions and attitudes about the U.S. differ just a lil’ bit from those within. This song and the album crystallise so many of the feelings of being an ex-pat. Plus, it’s a damn good album.
